to my only little nephew, Carson Christopher.
SIX YEARS OLD.
Why? I thought you'd stay little forever.
I get all nostalgic like I'm his mommy when I look at this picture, remembering his long curly hair (that daddy wasn't so fond of), and his chubby little cheeks. Carson, you are so big. So grown up. So smart. It's your first year of full-time-school, everyday all day long. While it's taking a little adjusting you are getting used to the structure. You are most definitely ready and most definitely sad to be saying goodbye to free time and playing at home and doing whatever you please.
But, you are ready. You are so smart. I've honestly never heard a little boy talk as much as you do-your vocabulary is huge and I just love carrying on conversations with a not-so-little boy. You have hopes & dreams to play sports (like daddy). You love baseball, football & wrestling too.
You are very into your outfits and matching. You love everything Air Jordan and long basketball shorts (below your knees, just like Steve has taught you). Playing with Brad is your favorite pastime, whether your catching frogs or playing games in the backyard --- he's your fave.
Drawing and artsy things are still fun for you---you like any kind of project, including helping out in the kitchen with cooking and baking. I cannot believe you are six. I love you so much. That little face just gets me every time. Maybe it's because you are my only nephew---the spoiled little man in our family----but you have a way of getting everything you want :)
Recently, when remember daddy on the day he passed you went to the cemetery with mom, Anabelle and Madelyn to celebrate dad's 2nd Birthday in heaven. Later that night before heading to bed I was on Instagram scrolling through...and spotted this image that your big sister, Anabelle, posted of a drawing you made.....with a sweeter than ever caption.
What a story to document. What a beautiful picture you drew for Anabelle that night when she was babysitting you. I love that Daddy is constantly on your mind, and in your heart. I love that you are still so curious about heaven, daddy and the life that is yours today.
Happy birthday Carson Christopher. I love you,
Auntie Stephanie
