Because I have been to this fabulous resort before, I know it's worth at least 1 or 2 additional nights of leisure if I can make it happen with my schedule. Last year Steven was able to join me for IU's Closing Ceremonies and then a couple additional nights. I shared those adventures on this post here.
Once again, the weather was unseasonable high (just how I like it) and climbed to 99-degrees two of the days. It was pool time for me...in my element. I love the sunshine.
It's not that often I get to see a clear blue sky like this in good ol' Wauwatosa so I had to soak it up as much as I could!
The outskirts of the hotel property had this beautiful view of Sin City just 7-some miles. I love how removed you feel from "the Strip" when you are at Green Valley. It's heavenly, peaceful and so calm that you would never guess that party rockin', including I Heart Radio, was going on just a few minutes away.
Nilmarie stayed a couple extra nights as well so we could catch up and have some fun, just us three girls doing whatever we wanted! The beauty of GVR (resort) is that you can choose to relax if you want, or you can get dressed up and go into Las Vegas with the snap of a quick taxi cab.
This year we scored ticked to Le Reve (show), The Dream inside the Wynn hotel for Sunday night.
I've begun over the past couple of years to promise myself to do my best to catch a show each time I travel to Vegas. I think it makes it all worth it---and it's so much fun to get all dressed up & enjoy a night out on the town doing things you wouldn't normally do at home.
The show was awesome. Super intense at moments and very romantical at others. It blows my mind how these gymnasts, actors & trapeze artists can do everything all the while in a huge pool of water.
Afterwards we enjoyed a fabulous Italian dinner at Allegro and then did a bit of gambling and made our way back to the hotel. Girl time is always such a blast and I really needed it after so many deadlines and so much work the past couple of weeks.
We wrapped up our last day and hours soaking up the sun at the pool.
Fall is creeping in at home and so I bound and determined to get a tan!
And until next year....goodbye Green Valley Ranch & Resort. You will be soooo missed!
